I'm Mike from Off Blue Mountain Energy, a
family owned company specializing in
off-grid energy solutions. I first became
interested in off grid energy while
serving in the United States Air Force. My
job called for me to be deployed to
remote, war-torn locations all over the
world with little or no remaining
infa-structure.

In such environments, one learns to depend
on simple, yet rugged equipment, such as
diesel generators, to complete the daily
operations while improving quality of life
in remote situations.

After the USAF, I lived in Northern
Thailand while teaching school. I was
totally amazed how Thai farmers, many who
couldn't afford grid power, lived very
well utilizing what we in the states would
call "third world" equipment.

After September 11th and Hurricane Katrina, my beliefs in personal and nation-wide energy indepenence
became completely focused in the off-grid direction. Today the news is filled with threats of severe
weather, earthquakes, terrorist attacks, the bird flu, oil shortages, out of control prices and even
nuclear war. FEMA has repeatedly stated that all citizens should be "PREPARED" with provisions and not
to rely on the government to provide for you or your family in time of national emergency.

In my humble opinion, Americans should see the writing on the wall and do just what the government has
said,
DON'T RELY ON THEM! If we can't rely on anyone to provide for us, we must advance into personal energy
independence!

Many belive the shift to off-grid living requires a"third world" lifestyle. Today, it is possible to
live very well while being completely independent of the government or the grid. Advances in off-grid
living are absolutley phenominal. At Blue Mountain Energy, we combine "third world" ideas with 21st
Century technology. Most of the equipment is affordable, rugged, simple to operate, and best of all,
easy to repair. This equipment does not rely on computer chips made overseas, technical support from
outsourced businesses or fossil fuels from countries that require our soliders to die for.

that will protect our environment while not violating the KISS theory (Keep It Simple Stupid). Our
